My Self-Initiated Project for Shakespeare’s Hamlet

I did a self-initiated project that was inspired by Shakespeare's Hamlet. I illustrated the book cover to create a visual narrative that reflects the haunting elements present in the tragedy. The focus was on revenge, and the complexities of the human psyche. To achieve this, I hand drew icons that represent key symbols and motifs from the play.

I illustrated a skull, and a goblet, encapsulating themes of mortality, vengeance, and the complex web of emotions that drive the characters. To add depth to the covers, I created a unique dagger pattern for the background. The pattern can also be used for endpapers and edges of the book.

I chose a dark and moody palette to evoke a sense of foreboding.
