Let’s create magic…
I am a British born South Asian Muslim freelance illustrator, based in Manchester, UK where I live with my two children. I create authentic quirky hand drawn illustrations, and specialise in illustrations for book covers, notebooks, publishing & editorial projects. My artwork helps to tell stories and spike curiosity. I do this by embracing imperfection, whilst combining my love for textures, patterns, and colours.
I appeared on channel 5’s documentary ‘Proud to be British’ and worked in a local radio station.
I have a rich inner world filled with colours, patterns, textures and letters that I love bringing to life, which you’ll find in my products and designs. My hand-drawn creative resources range from branding packs to seasonal items.
My background:
Being creative is like breathing for me. It’s part of my DNA. However, coming from a middle-class Pakistani Asian family it was not a career option. I went to dental school. In fact I got 2 dental degrees and even owned a dental practice. However, I couldn’t ignore that creative voice inside me any longer. At the same time I was also going through a very difficult time in my life. I was in a wheelchair. I was depressed and stressed and needed something to help me get through it all. I decided to really listen to my inner child go back to University and study art (Creative Practice) at Manchester Metropolitan University. Since then I have been following my passion with a vengeance! My daily drawing practice helps me to relax and reconnect with myself. I absolutely LOVE making art! I LOVE it when my art helps to bring my clients ideas to life and helps them to create magical moments. It really is a beautiful experience.
