A beginner’s guide to anthropomorphism

So what is anthropomorphism?

It is basically when non human characters such as animals, and objects are given human characteristics. It is a fun way to build a range of characters in your portfolio. Animals have a universal appeal and are really useful to use when illustrating a story with difficult issues. Also you can use them when you want to highlight any specific characteristic in your character, e.g. illustrating a fox to highlight sly and cunning behaviour. The fox doesn’t have to be walking on all 4 legs. You can make the fox walk on 2 legs like humans, make it wear accessories e.g a hat, or even make it do cool things like dancing.

Have fun creating your characters and let me know how you get on!
